Can we talk about make up for a moment? I talked about this earlier this month. If you have a photo session scheduled with your favorite photographer, I always recommend having your makeup professionally done. Why? Because…
💄 A professional makeup artist knows how to properly apply makeup for all types of lighting situations that won’t leave you looking like Casper the friendly ghost when a camera flash is used.
💄 A professional makeup artist can conceal and cover blemishes and even out skin tones which leaves you with a beautiful polished and finished look.
💄 Professional cameras pick up everything! Blemishes, under eye bags and dark circles, etc.
💄 It boosts your confidence! It’s something about having your makeup done that gives you that little extra boost of confidence and that translates on camera.
So, the next time you have professional photos taken, definitely consider having professional makeup done as well!

Happy Soleful Sunday…. I missed last week because I was a little under the weather.  Today along with posting one of my favorite pair of shoes for the week, I am also going to give a little advice because it is important for you to know. A lot of couples are planning for their big day. There is an overwhelming amount of choices for venues, cakes, dresses…and (sigh) Photographers.

One of the biggest decisions you will make about your wedding day is choosing your wedding photographer. This person(s) will be responsible for capturing all the incredible moments of one of the best days of your lives, so you want to make sure they are a good fit for you, and pretty darn good at their job. Here are some questions you may want to ask your potential photographer⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. How would you describe your working style? You want to see what type of photographer they are. Do they lay low, fade into the background, and capture things as they unfold naturally? Or do they take charge and set up shots?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Are you the photographer that will be shooting my wedding? Will you have a second shooter or assistant?
3. Have you ever shot at my wedding venue?
4. What is your backup plan if you are unable to attend my wedding?
5. If my event goes beyond our agreed upon time, is there an extra charge?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
***BONUS***You need to ask yourself, “Do I vibe with this photographer? This is THE most important question you can ask. You will be spending a lot of time with your photographer, and you want to be comfortable with them and around them.
I want the absolute best for my clients, so I encourage them to shop around. A consultation does not have to be a commitment. Find who works for you #itanimages

Like most women, I am a lover of shoes — flats, heels, red, floral prints you name it. I will never admit to anyone how many pairs I own. I feel like it a little like asking a woman her age-“never ask a woman how many pairs of shoes she has.”

Because of my love for shoes, I decided that I wanted to create Soleful Sundays to talk with you about many things regarding photography and to give you a glimpse of what it is like to walk in the shoes of a wedding and portrait photographer.  And of course, to share with you my shoe pick of the week. With this platform, I hope that I will be able to connect, inspire, and educate through sharing my experiences.

So today, I want to kick off the first post with this pair of 💥Super She-ro pumps💥 with a little bling.✨

My Bam Pumps

Wearing high heels have a way of elongating the legs and add a sensual flair to any outfit.

So, when you are planning your portrait session, remember to accent your outfit with a pair of comfortable stylish heels.

I met Kismet, this lovely bride, to be at the Chic Bridal show at the Fox theater. She was the bride to be that won our door prize. After a consultation, Kismet and Louis decided to hire me to share in their October wedding. This love story began with the couple meeting at a trendy neighborhood restaurant where they both grew up. It was an immediate connection, Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta. After fourteen months of dating, Louis popped the question in an intimate setting. Kismet said, “Yes.” They are excited to start the next phase of their lives together.  I was thrilled that they decided to hire me, not only to document their wedding but also to capture their love in this  Downtown Austell engagement session. So let us take a ride…

“ All aboard the love train❤️ 🚂, Louis and Kismet”….

Engagement | John Paul and Shawn | The Goat Farm

I love the chemistry between John Paul and Shawn. Love is in the air when these two are around. You can feel it.

The Proposal ” Originally, I had planned a trip to a location that Shawn had never been, but always wanted to go, San Francisco, CA. The plane tickets were paid for, hotel, and the plan laid out, but by the time the date of the trip came up, I found out that the ring wasn’t going to be ready for another 45 days.

So we still went on the trip and had a great time. And of course she wasn’t aware… So after the ring was ready, I decided that I would take her to another place that she had never been to, my home state of Washington in Seattle. Since the previous trip, about a month prior drained my funds, I had to come up with a make-shift plan for a new proposal.

We stayed in Bellevue, WA which was approximately 10 minutes away, beautiful place paired with a beautiful hotel, and matched for a beautiful lady. I had three days to find a romantic restaurant with an awesome view to prepare my proposal. I got lucky enough to find a reservation to make one.Unfortunately, we were having a blast for the first two days, but we were having so much fun that I had tired her out on the day we were supposed meet at the restaurant for dinner where I had made reservations. She took an early nap and slept for three and a half hours.

So the next day, it was back to the drawing board. I managed to find reservations at a restaurant on the pier. This woman is impossible to surprise, she was so suspicious it almost drove me crazy (laughing to myself). I found a good spot on roof top of the building facing the water and the city skyline and it was a clear and the stars were booming this night. I was lucky because one of the staff members that I had told previously was so excited, that she offered to help film it, so she was hidden in the corner and recorded the proposal.”- John Paul
